 Henry Saltiel – Vice President
Welcome to Vice President’s Office of Information Technology (I.T.) web page. The Vice President is a member of the college’s executive management team. He is responsible for guiding strategic planning and policy implementation initiatives related to technology infrastructure and the uses of technology in support of the college’s overall mission. The Vice President’s office is comprised of the Vice President, Associate Dean, and Executive Assistants.
The office oversees the departments of Network Administration, End-User Support/Helpdesk, Student Information Systems, and Instructional Media services. The Office Institutional Research, which is responsible for maintaining vital statistical data related to the college’s performance and historical trends, is also managed by I.T. .Operational activities of the office include budget forecasting, I.T. personnel planning and development, participation in Executive Council, compliance with technology regulations and auditing requirements, and establishing a technology roadmap to enable the college to meet its strategic goals. The Vice President serves as the college’s principle representative for all technical matters to the City University of New York (CUNY). As an example, the Vice President is the Campus Executive providing leadership for the "CUNY FIRST" ERP Project.
The vision for the IT Division is to provide the highest level of service while assuring fiscally responsible practices in supporting the college’s technological requirements. Technology is increasingly a key enabler for effective instruction and administrative efficiency. The IT Division strives to provide not only a reliable and performance driven infrastructure for the college but to establish venues for non-IT divisions to harness technology independently while staying within a standards framework.
As such, project management, training, and consulting are increasingly the cornerstone attributes of the IT Division beyond specific technology skills which we are constantly developing. This office is the focal point for the college in collaborating among the divisions to apply technology to support the college’s strategic plan.
