Welcome to Adult and Continuing Education (ACE) IT Department. This Department functions as a core unit of LaGuardia’s ACE Division as well as LaGuardia’s IT Division. As such ACE-IT performs many functions independently of the greater IT division, at the same collaborates with and leverages existing capabilities and resources. The ACE-IT department is comprised of the following teams.
- ACE Helpdesk
- ACE Registration System Development and Support Team
- Databases Development and Support Team
- Web Development and Support Team
ACE Helpdesk
The ACE Helpdesk with the collaboration of the IT Division’s Technical Support Center (TSC) provides support for all the computer related problems in the ACE Division. This includes software/hardware troubleshooting and installation. The ACE Helpdesk is responsible for maintaining and upgrading all ACE computer labs and maintenance of all the local servers. It is responsible for upgrading and installing all computers and peripherals within the division. The ACE Helpdesk provides basic training to ACE faculty and staff for all Microsoft applications. Support is provided from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM Monday thru Friday.
ACE Registration System Development and Support Team
This group is responsible for all the daily requirements of ACE’s student registration system. This includes but not limited to:
- End user support and training.
- Develop/Modify the current registration system according to the needs of the Division.
- Produce daily reports.
- Online Registration.
- Develop and maintain the Request for Appointment database.
Databases Development and Support Team
This group is responsible for any database related issues. They maintain a number of Access databases that already exist in the Division but they also develop new applications accordingly. They are responsible for all the MS Access reports that get generated on a daily basis as well as for any improvements/changes on any database system.
Web Development and Support Team
This group is responsible for all the web related issues of the Ace division. With the collaboration of the Information Systems Department’s Web Team, they are responsible for the design and development of the ACE’s web site. They are also responsible for the development and support of any web application of the division.
