a. Online Administration
Online surveys require a database of target interviewee email
addresses and a set of questions that can be loaded into an
online survey system. Interviewees first receive an email
instructing the interviewee to click on a link that leads to the
questionnaire. After closing the survey IR downloads the results
as a report or tabulation. IR loads the database of email
addresses, checks the survey for design and suitability, loads
the questionnaire, opens and closes it, and pulls the results.
b. Design
The IR staff has enough experience with surveys of students,
staff and faculty to be able to suggest ways of improving a
survey. The IR staff can make suggestions about sample size,
question wording, question order, answer choice order, and ways
of improving validity.
c. Result Interpretation
IR staff can assist in the analysis of survey results and
correlate the results with other databases. IR staff can also
assist in presentation design for the results.
