Description of Applications
Admissions Walk-in System – Web
based application that controls flow of walk-in students at the admissions
counter. Application allows for inquiry to student records and updates Exeter.
DegreeWorks – The system
supports academic advising, degree audit and transcript information. Loaded from
SIMS on a daily basis.
E-Portfolio (Concord) - The
ePortfolio(Concord) is a unique tool that will allow you to merge your personal
and professional goals. Course schedule loaded through blackboard.
SIMS – “Student Information
Management System” is the CUNY central supplied IBM mainframe application that
controls most the student processes for LaGuardia.
eSIMS – Future Web based
student registration system.
Exeter – The Exeter Student
Marketing System (“SMS”) is a database application that allows LaGuardia to
record and use information about prospective LaGuardia students.
Web Inquiry form – Web
application that allows potential students to ask for information about
LaGuardia. Currently updates Exeter with al information entered by student.
Web Schedule of Classes – Web
view of schedule of classes by semester, Course ID, Discipline or SIMS code.
Available from the “I am a student page” and Registrar page. Updated via
interface to an access application and SIMS for head count in class.
Job Search - This database
automates the job search process college wide. It assists the administrative
staff of the different college divisions, who are designated to deal with the
job search process.
Resource 25 - R25 is the
campus-wide class scheduling software.
ePermit- The system moves a
student's permit application electronically. An application initially goes to
the Registrar’s Office (the primary approver), which makes certain the student
meets minimum standards of eligibility. The application then is sent to the
student's academic department for approval (the second approver).
LaGuardia Calendar - Displays
events important to LaGuardians by day for one week at a time. Calendar will
support registration for these events with interface to Exeter.
Web Grade - Webgrade System
allows faculty to use the Internet to submit final grades for their courses.
eCareer - The eCareer and
Educational Plan gives you a place to describe, record and reflect on your
career and educational exploration and planning efforts while attending
LaGuardia Community College.
ASAP – Tracking system for
cohort involved in Accelerated Associates program. Interfaces to SIMS mirror.
Web Attendance – Application
that allows faculty to record daily attendance. Application loaded from SIMS
Attendance Roster job.
